Do your employees and management staff like their work environment? Can you sense a team effort there? Are people actually happy to be involved in the organization? Are people showing up on time? Does your sick day or holiday numbers come close to your industry average? And yes these questions do go for both small and large business? So, I expect you will answer them truthfully. (NO, no one is going to look at this but you.) If asked; will your employees say that they are happy to be part of your company, small business or organization? What about your upper management? Do they like working there too? Is there turn over at these higher levels? Why and how much turnover? Are your vendors and contractors also happy to do business with you? Do they feel like they are part of the team? If not do you think they maybe passing information to your competitors? Face it if your team is not in it for the love of it and in it to win it, you are not completely in the water and you are not going to win any polo matches. In fact with lack luster attitudes someone may end up drowning and you better hope it is not because your entire ship sank. Business Management is essential and you need to make sure you have a happy human team on your side of that net if you want to win games and get into the playoffs. Consider all this in 2006. |
